Good value for an annual plan

I signed up for the annual subscription to access the developmental editing AI and got a 20% discount, which made it a much better deal than paying monthly. I was looking for something to help structure my story without breaking the bank, and this fit the bill. It analyzed my narrative structure and pointed out weak spots, which was super helpful. The character development AI was also insightful, even if some of its suggestions felt a bit generic. For the price, it's a solid investment.

Quick help with my manuscript

Used Rate My Prose for a chapter. Got feedback fast. It highlighted some repetitive words. The suggestions were clear and useful. Interface was easy to navigate. One suggestion was a bit off, but overall very good. Saved me time.

Good tool, some UI quirks

I tried out the Phantom Fix for my latest short story. It did a solid job catching awkward phrasing and repetitive words, which saved me a lot of time. The prose polishing tool is pretty effective. However, I found the interface a bit clunky to navigate at first; it took a few tries to figure out where all the settings were. Overall, it's a valuable tool, but could use some UI refinement.

Absolutely amazing tool

I just tried out the developmental editing AI and it is simply incredible! It helped me see structural issues in my novel I'd completely missed. The feedback was so insightful and easy to apply. I've used other AI tools before, but this one feels like it actually understands storytelling. I will definitely be subscribing to the annual plan next month. Highly recommend this to any writer looking to seriously improve their manuscript!

Loved the prose polishing tool

Oh my gosh, I just used the prose polishing tool for a short story, and it was incredible! It really picked up on repetitive phrasing and gave such smart alternatives. My writing feels so much crisper now, and it saved me so much time. I was a bit skeptical at first, but this AI is seriously good. I'm already planning to use it for my next manuscript. Seriously recommend it to anyone who wants to improve their writing quickly, even if the interface could be a little snappier sometimes!

Reliable for editing

I've been using Ghost The Writer for a few months now, mostly for the Word Wraith and the style consistency checker. This time I used it for a new novel draft. It's consistently good at picking up on things I miss. The character development AI even gave me a few ideas I hadn't considered. It just works, every time, which is why I keep coming back instead of trying other platforms.

Helpful for my book

Got the creative writing AI to help with my manuscript. It was pretty cool, helped me organize my notes into actual chapters which is usually the hardest part for me. I was a bit confused by the difference between Phantom Fix and Word Wraith at first, but once I figured it out, it was smooth sailing. The support chat was quick to answer my questions. Made getting my book started way easier than I thought.

Helped my novel a lot

I tried out the Phantom Fix for my novel last month, and it was pretty cool. It caught a bunch of awkward sentences I totally missed. The suggestions were mostly spot-on, though a couple felt a bit too formal for my style. Overall, it definitely made my writing smoother, and I'd use it again for sure.

Thinking about trying this for my novel, but which one do I need? There's like 5 different tools listed.

M Michael Parker 1 month ago
Yeah it can be a bit confusing. If you want help with flow and making sentences sound better, 'Phantom Fix' is good. 'Word Wraith' is more for bigger picture stuff like plot and character arcs, I think.

B Brandon Allen 1 month ago
Phantom Fix is definitely for polishing prose, like making it sound smoother. Word Wraith is more for helping with the actual story structure and character stuff. I use both, but for different stages.

Hey, anyone know if they offer a free trial for Ghost The Writer? I want to test it out before committing.

How long does it usually take to get the results back from 'Rate My Prose'? I've got a deadline coming up.

J Jacob 1 month ago
It's pretty quick, honestly. Like, almost instant feedback. Not a human reading it obviously.

W William Martinez 1 month ago
Yeah, the AI processes it right away. You'll get your report almost immediately after submitting your prose.

Anyone used both Ghost The Writer and Sudowrite? Wondering which is better for developmental editing.

S Stephanie Lewis 1 month ago
I tried both. Ghost The Writer felt more geared towards deep literary analysis, probably because of the PhD angle. Sudowrite was good for brainstorming but less detailed on structure for me.
6
S Sam N. 1 month ago
Depends on what you need. If you want more 'creative' suggestions, maybe Sudowrite. For actual structural critiques and prose, I'd lean towards Ghost The Writer. The PhD thing isn't just marketing, I think.

Does Ghost The Writer actually help with writing a whole novel, or is it more for just polishing what you already have?

M Matt Smith 1 month ago
It's more for polishing and structure, not like, writing it for you. You still gotta do the heavy lifting.
5
R Robert A. 1 month ago
I think it can help with development and structure, like the Flesh Maker tool, but it's not a novel generator. It's for helping you refine your own work.

I'm worried about putting my manuscript into an AI. Will it use my story to train its models or something?

R Robert A. 1 month ago
Nah, they have a privacy policy that says they don't use your work for training. Pretty sure that's standard for these kinds of services.
6
K Karen E. 1 month ago
I remember reading that somewhere on their site. Your stuff is private, they don't use it to train the AI. It's a big concern for writers so they usually make that clear.

Are there any discounts floating around for this? Seems a bit pricey for a new writer.

S Sandra Moore 3 weeks ago
Definitely check for a free trial first, they usually have a 7-day one. Also, sometimes if you sign up for their newsletter, they'll send you a coupon.

I got a referral code from a friend that gave me a discount, maybe ask around? And yeah, check for the beta tester discount too, sometimes those pop up.

Is this thing actually good for fiction, or just another AI that spits out generic stuff? I've tried a few and they just sound like robots.

T Thomas Torres 1 month ago
It's pretty different, actually. The guy who made it is a lit PhD, so it's supposed to understand nuance better than say, ChatGPT. I found it helpful for dialogue.
5
A Alex Taylor 1 month ago
I was skeptical too, but it helped me spot some repetitive phrasing that other tools missed. It's not magic, but it's more 'literary' than others I've used, if that makes sense.
